The Commission's primary activity is to award funds to programs in Tuolumne County that promote outcomes of early childhood development and school readiness and to evaluate those outcomes. Funds will be awarded on a competitive basis or through initiatives to programs that serve the target audience of pregnant, women, children from birth to five, and their families. The priority areas for funding allocation are:

Substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment for parents of young children, | |

Behavioral and psychosocial issues for young children and their caregivers, | |
|
Parent education, | |
|
Safe home environments, | |
|
Access to quality child care and early childhood education, and | |
|
Access to medical and dental health services. |
